Shwezigon
This is the only sign I've seen that separates Shwezigon into two words. Shwe means gold; Zigon is the sand bank where it's located; Zedi means stupa, a place to bury a relic. Shwezigon, though, is a full fledged temple, with pavillions, vendors, a pathway for monks, wrinkled women smoking fat cheroots, nats, dioramas, bells - the whole array, surrounding the bell-shaped zedi.
